This week, we continue with part two of our conversation with Casey Palmer. Casey is a blogger, father, project manager, podcaster, and owner of the brand Casey Palmer, Canadian Dad.
If you're not creating and doing things from a place of core central beliefs, it won't have an impact on you. I want everything I do to place its mark on my soul because it was important. If I have to do some of the unimportant things in between because of the job or whatever else, so be it.
Toronto is often touted as perhaps the most multicultural city in the world. What elements of culture allows for that mosaic, for that shared humanity, but still valuing the own perspectives? I think hearing about what values come to light in maintaining a mosaic culture would be very valuable.
As of now, Caucasian or whiteness is still the dominant flavor or ingredients in the United States. How do you instill the importance of culture when you're instilling individuality of each flavor with your kids?
Are there any experiences that really shaped your life over the past few years? He says he tends to take something away every single time he goes on a trip. Every experience has something to learn from it, he says.
Travel or novelty creates creativity, routine and structure creates productivity. How do you balance that with the productivity side of coming back, having all these new inspired ideas? A lot of it is having the flexibility to choose every day what are the things that are going to fill your time.
Casey: What I need to discover more is how I can make the most of my time.
Benoit: Find your truth not in your typical entire meditate. Experiment with different things that you don't normally do to figure out what resonates with you most.
"Because if you're not creating and doing things from a place of core central beliefs, it won't have an impact on you. If you do something today and you've completely forgotten it by tomorrow, was there a point of doing it, is kind of how I see things. I want everything I do to place its mark on my soul because it was important." - Casey Palmer
