#85. Running Two Solo Marathons and Redefining Your Impossible through Habit Stacking, Identity Work & More— Cory Camp

This week, we continue our conversation with Cory Camp. Cory is a personal performance coach, podcast host, and the founder of the Forever Athlete brand & community.

How do you show up for yourself? That's where your identity is. It's not who you are for your mom or brother or employer. Once you can get clear on that, all those other relationships and those other roles and hats that you put on improve.

Fitness problems are just keeping our word. It does boil down to how are you at keeping a word to yourself. The first step is the hardest. Building the repetition and almost like the confidence that you will do the thing that you set out to do.

Nothing is more sustainable than identity, right? Because beliefs creates identity, but emotions fuels beliefs. What if you had this internal flip that you wanted to evolve from identity of an athlete into mindset of a forever athlete?

One of the big things for me was reframing. Is this thing going to enable me to embody that identity or move from that identity? For it to be meaningful and impactful, it has to be the adjective base on the to-be side.

Can you describe yourself without telling what you do? That's people first language, the neuro-linguistic aspect. And it's almost like using imposter syndrome as a fuel to motivate what you feel lacking of.

Every single mastery requires 10,000 hours, but 30 days is more doable than that. Always start small and increment improvement over time.

"A lot of us gravitate really easily to that label. And it's interesting to observe you're describing who you are as a way that you show up for someone else. How do you show up for yourself? That's one of the themes that keeps coming up in this conversation. How do you make yourself proud? What goes into that? That's where your identity is." - Cory Camp

This week, we continue our conversation with Cory Camp.

Cory is a personal performance coach, podcast host, and the founder of the Forever Athlete brand & community.

This week’s episode begins with the story of Cory’s two solo marathons… That’s right, he ran two marathons completely unassisted.

This experience taught him about the power of momentum in redefining and achieving the impossible.

By seeking discomfort, our boxes of possibility expand.

We also discuss the importance of sleep & recovery when striving towards peak performance.

Cory explains a few of his biggest tips to achieving a good night’s sleep and creating change that is actually sustainable.

If you’re a high performer or someone looking to make a productive change in your life, this is the episode for you.
